Commemoration 4 May
The May 4 commemoration in Dronten will take place on the Meerpaalplein and is open to all. From 7:30 p.m. there will be music and singing. A few minutes before 8 p.m. there will be a speech by Mayor Gebben. After the Last Post, the 2 minutes of silence and the national anthems, wreaths will be laid at the monument. A student from Ichthus College concludes by reciting a poem.
Program for invitees
A large number of invited guests attended the May 4 commemoration. At the center were always the Airgunners. When the Airgunners would no longer be there, their place would be filled actively serving military and veterans and post veterans from the municipality of Dronten. Also representatives of defense, embassies, civil society organizations and schools. Invited guests will be received by the mayor of Dronten in De Meerpaal. Here a speech and a sandwich meal will follow, followed by the program as listed below.
Commemorative meeting
in the Meerpaal
At 6 p.m. the memorial service will begin in the main hall of De Meerpaal. Besides invited guests, this meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend. On the basis of the annual theme of the National Committee May 4 and 5, this theme will be interpreted in a varied way.
Commemoration on
the Meerpaalplein

The square will be joined by the Flevo Scouts, Flevo's Men's Choir, Maris Sonores and De Eendracht, among others. Omroep Flevoland will broadcast the commemoration. There will be a flypast by a Harvard (old Air Force training plane) and the Edambusters.
Informal gathering

After the commemoration at Meerpaalplein, invited guests will go to De Meerpaal for an informal gathering.
